Last night The Third Mind played a wonderful show at the Belly Up in Solana Beach on the coast and tonight we're performing at Pappy And Harriett's in Pioneertown out in the high desert.
Now, I won't say the name of the motel or what little desert town it's in but this purple pimp fantasy pad motel room is actually my room tonight. Seriously. This is my motel room. According to the small plaque on the door outside, this is the 'New York New York' suite. If having the jacuzzi next to the bed wasn't enough cheesy glitz for you, there are, of course, mirrors on the ceiling above the bed. The truth is that I have stayed in much, much worse rooms in my travels but this little gem is definitely a special one.

Sometimes folks wonder why touring musicians are often a little bit insane. I submit this room as one piece of evidence as to why that's often the case. Looking forward to seeing my desert rat, desert devil and Mojave angel friends tonight at Pappy's."
