The good thing is that she wasn't there, so I didn't do anything. Satchell Paige was right about not turning around because something might be gaining on you. Sometimes they gain on you even when you don't turn around.

    Anyway, it's a sober night.

It's a half-sober night over here. There were a few Guinnesses left in the fridge, so I'm snacking on cheddar and crackers, with a little of the old stout. I'm quickly losing patience with mrsneakie.com, though. I wish I could get SportsJournalists.com at home in the usual way. Mrsneakie's more likie mistersucky.

  4. Damn. Read this carefully, Xavier.

On my very first day at one of my former papers, I was assigned to cover the guilty plea of a former reporter at our paper who had become a crack addict. Petty's right, crack kills, but only if you're lucky. It can do a lot worse before death ever comes.

This guy was a respected reporter in our newsroom who turned to crack of all things because of family problems. He ended up owing money to just about everyone in the newsroom. Things finally came to a head during an attempted traffic stop. He floors it and crashes. Then pulls a gun and begs the police to kill him. They talk him down and he was sentenced to something like 10 years after he pleads guilty.

I was sent because no one who knew him wanted to see him go to prison.

Earth, Wind & Fire never fails to amaze me. It had probably been two or three weeks since I heard any of their music. That's two or three weeks too long.

The only downside? Listening to pep and marching bands completely screw up "In the Stone." Either play the arrangement correctly or not at all.

They'd probably Boots me a lot if I went into the pen, cell block 8, with Ray Ray, who'd call me Bubbles and hold my head to his large penis and make me suck his balls till he cums as a train of killers creampied my virgin arsehole.

I think I've decided that I'm going to wear ballroom shoes for my wedding and ballet slippers for the reception. I really want to buy a pair of pointe shoes, too, but those may have to wait awhile. I love that ballet slippers only cost $14, though. They'll be better for the reception than flip flops. :)

For the first time in three years, I'm looking forward to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament.

I went 16 years in between totaling cars. Don't remember much from the first one except that the other guy was named Jerry.
