OK, so I scanned over the 2-1/2 hr drive ... but still, wow ... high school soccer during the middle of the day. Guess I'm truly sheltered in my corner of the world, but high school sports where I'm at is NEVER during the day, only after school hours.

I'm a little bothered by the turn this thread temporarily took over the debate on weed. I've smoked it before. I can understand not liking it and not ever wanting to smoke it, but I'm willing to bet that of 15 people working in two newspaper offices, at least two or three of them HAVE smoked, they just don't want to admit it.

That being said, it's fine if you don't like weed and have never or will never smoke it. Just try not to be so judgemental, huh?
I will never go to a Pentacostal church, but that doesn't mean I think all members of that church are freaks.

AA - I wholeheartedly agree with you on most things you post, and for the most part I agree, folks shouldn't be judgmental. However, I think zizzer and others have a right to post their opinions - be it judgmental or not.

Hey, the opinions are fine, and being judgemental is fine.

People have to understand there's a price to be paid. If I came on here and expressed some outrageous opinion, I certainly have the right to do so, but I also should expect a lot of heat for my statement.

Anyone has the right to post an opinion.

They should, however, be prepared to back opinions out with thoughtful analysis. Lacking that, they should expect to be mocked.

I'm a firm believer in personal responsibility as it ties to freedom.

Far too many people scream about their freedoms, but they forget there's ALWAYS a cost associated with said freedoms. Freedom ISN'T free.

And to bring the thread full circle, in college my buddies and I would smoke dope and play Risk all night.

I developed the stoned Scottish strategy, which I happily use to destroy people until this day.

We need a late night online risk game around here...

Can you believe, I have never played Risk?

Plenty of Stratego and Axis & Allies (LOVE that game), though.

I'm editing a story right now, and this graph made me laugh. Can I buy a comma, Pat?

Helping, says Smith, because she, like Turner, Iduzzi, and Langdon, was often surrounded by great players too, including, in her senior year, both Ali Wilkes and Eliza Beilein, the latter whom left for Proctor after three years, only 20 points shy of the 1,000 mark.

Where I am, its only during the day on Saturday, unless both schools have off from school that week (spring recess, winter recess, etc.) or that day (teacher's conferences) then the games take place during the day, sometimes as early as 11 a.m.

I'm not sure I could even read that graph, xan.

It's normally after school on Tuesday's and Saturday's where I am, but since it is playoff time in Texas they play whenever and wherever they can.

Also, Zeke, I will destroy you at Risk, though I have never played online and maybe that is harder.

And, CradleRobber, there is no better game than handheld Yahtzee! Perfect for taking a shit. My personal best (I feel like a swim parent) is 674, I picked up four Yahtzees in one game. Good times.
