Prairieland? What the fuck does "West" mean to you ... Kansas? :p

We don't got no stinkin' prairies. Let's see ... I got mountains (13 miles away), a ski resort (30 miles away), a desert resort town (40 miles away) and the Pacific Ocean (50 miles away), all within an hour's drive.

Oh, and sunny weather while y'all are freezing your asses off in January. And March. And October ...

I like prairies. Open plains and big sky speak to me, though I'm quite fond of the hill country around here, as well.

Well, you're right, I took my definition of west from flatland South Dakota. Bad call. Rockies are cool, but I'd still feel isolated knowing my closest neighbor was 15 miles away. (My aunt lives between Helena and Great Falls, and she's 20 miles from the nearest store. Oy.) I like my solitude, but that much? No wonder why the Unabomber was nuts.

By the way, October is the greatest month of the year, with Indian Summer warm days and the foliage all around. You should try it sometime. :)

Prairies are good in small doses. Big sky is good, in small doses.

But there are some things about living in a city that just rock.
