My ex is being unusually helpful and accommodating.

This is making me nervous, because in my experience the only time she acts like this is when she has done or is planning to do something selfish and wants to assuage her guilt. Maybe this is just residual guilt from her actions this year, but maybe she's planning something new that I'm not seeing coming.

 

If she didn't regularly do unselfish things in the past, there's no reason to believe she's developed that ability in the time you've been apart. In fact, there's every reason to assume it's gotten worse, not better.

 

Oh definitely. The question is not "is she being unselfish?"

The question is "Is she trying to cover up for her existing guilt or is there something new I should know about?"

 

If I delete all 1,200 emails in my gmail ... will I miss them? Will not having an email stored away for a raining day come back to bite me?

 

Well, Gmail is very easy to search through, so having the conversation histories actually comes in handy often for me.

 

I actually enjoy going through old emails every once in a while. I found a few pretty funny threads pre-facebook that makes me miss the days of communication that way.
If someone got a hold of these emails though, I would be considered more evil than Richie Incognito.
