  1. Our Aldi's takes checks and check cards.

    Love it!

Smoked ham for $1.19 a pound? Should I give it a shot?

Sounds like a horrible place. Why should I have to go to two grocery stores? The entire point of grocery store is convenience.

    I also hate Wal-Mart.

I wouldn't try the sushi at Aldi.

Their web site says they don't accept credit cards. Only cash and debit cards. If you have a checking account, you have a debit card, right?

Yes, but you get a small surcharge for every debit purchase.

Aldi is a grocery store for people who don't like food.

Still looking forward to trying it. It really would be a breath of fresh air in the grocery store category in my area if any of the good stuff about the store turns out to be true.

Don't you have to bag your own groceries at Aldi?

You even have to bring your own bags.

Aldi is not a job creator.

I do that now in the self-check out. I do very little grocery shopping now that I'm an empty-nester. And I do routinely bring my own bags. Again, fits in with my life style now. Everything about their concept is really going to suit my life style. An I'm OK with the quarter to get a basket if it keeps those buggers out of the parking lot!

I made sure to find a Wegmans on my way back from my brother's and as usual, thoroughly enjoyed shopping there. After being in what I consider the perfect chain grocery store, this talk of Aldi makes me sad.
