The West Wing is now streaming on Netflix. So much for being productive over New Year's.

Dogs treat male and female humans differently. Humans believe in dog gender equality.

    Mr. Petty,

Is it sad that I know exactly what video your avatar is from?

Just watched an episode of "Roseanne" where Jackie takes over the "mom duties" while Roseanne goes to see her dad, who fell and broke his hip.
Jackie is on the phone with her: "What does Dan likes to eat for dinner."
*pause for Jackie to listen to what Roseanne says*
    "Oh, that's disgusting."

I've seen this episode maybe 3 or 4 times, but never in the last 15 years.

NOW I get what Roseanne was saying...and yes, that IS disgusting! Because the thought of Dan Connor and Roseanne....*chills*

I hadn't seen a single episode of West Wing until this week. I'd been saving for when it showed up on Netflix or someplace like it and I could watch it all at once.

I'm about eight episodes into the second season. Most of the first season was absolutely amazing television. Besides all the Sorkin staples that I eat up, I love the pop-ups of actors and actresses. Sue Sylvester as a White House reporter and Principal Figgins as the Indian ambassador cracked me up. Plus, Sam will always be Chris Traeger to me.

Two nitpicks, because criticizing awesome things is what nerds do:

    1) I hated ending the first season with an assassination attempt. It's just such an obvious place for a show about the President to go, even if they did it really well.

    2) Aimsley is a horrendous Cousin Oliver. Well, she's a gorgeous Cousin Oliver, but her character is an egregious example of the concept.

    1. It's Ainsley.

    2. She's awesome.

    3. She fades out a bit in the middle, but I think she comes back with a vengeance at some point. I am four episodes into Season 4 now, and "20 Hours in America: Part 2" became one of my favorite episodes last night.

Bodie shoots Ainsley at the end of Season 4.
