That was a little crazy. Does that sport even have a name?

 

For the 5-10 people other than me who might appreciate this.

 

Does it drive anyone else to vicious anger when someone says of someone else, often a dead person, "He was a great (job title) but even better person." There are other phrasing twists, too.

Now I'm at no risk of being called a better person than journalist, but I would find it insulting to my work abilities if someone tried.

Most recently, I read it about Stan Musial. Musial was one of the 20 greatest baseball players ever. I'm going to put good money on him not being one of the 20 greatest or 20,000 greatest people ever.

 

It's an overused (and thus usually meaningless) phrase, but I think in Musial's case, given his rep away from the field, it's a shorthand way of reminding people he was more than just a ballplayer.

 

Sally Field is 65 years old.
I see her in an osteoporosis commercial and I think I'd still chase her around any beach, factory or district attorney's office of her choosing.

 

I love step dancing. The riverdance, clogging, step dancing, tap, Cape Breton step dance, folk dance and the Malambo.
