Just wrote a tongue-in-cheek email to my ASE about how we label our stories above the headline.
For whatever sport it is, we put the league (NBA, NHL, NFL, etc.). When it comes to the playoffs they add the word Playoffs to it.
Now, the conundrum.
The NHL doesn't call their playoffs "NHL Playoffs", it's the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Of course, I have been using the official name as the header for the games. He and our other paginator have been using what they call the "generic" header. I call it completely incorrect.
Yes, I'm making a big deal out of a very small issue (99.9% of people won't bat an eye either way it is written), but it still makes me laugh that this is just one of those things that is being shoved off because "that's how we always have done it."

 

I like tight bodies and tight writing.

Made me sick for a week.

 

One of my coworkers just told me "it's no big deal if your paycheck is missing only 10 hours."

I kinda wanna slap the shit out of him when I get back to work tomorrow.

Doing layout yesterday and today and in the office until 11:30, add to that a trip to a volleyball camp at 7:30 this morning. Next time someone over on the advertising side makes some snide comment about us sports guys coming into work at 2:30 every day, I get to tell them to suck it.

 

Anyone ever been to Mt. Rushmore? If so, is it worth going and what airport would one fly to to visit?

I loved visiting SD. Not just Mount Rushmore -- there are caves, the whole Crazy Horse thing, Deadwood and Wall Drug.

 

I may have to go check it out sometime. I love national parks, I also wanna go see The Grand Canyon again.

I've told several people I know who have never been to the Grand Canyon that it's one of the few things that you will ever see that lives up to advance billing. I was told how awesome it is and it doesn't disappoint.
