IJAG, I usually look for lesser-known titles with established actors. Matt Dillon and Marisa Tomei are in the movie I just mentioned. On the subject of pool, there's a good movie I picked up recently called "Shooting Gallery" with Ving Rhames and Freddie Prinze Jr. (I know, but he's good in this). Also, "Pool Hall Junkies" is a good "flick."

Look at the ball you're shooting? Great advice. :)

I always play better when I look at the ball at which I am aiming instead of the cue ball. I see the angles better since I'm also not much of a math person.

    Thanks Pal. ;) :D

pall: when I'm looking for new movies, I usually try something more artsy, even if I've never heard of anyone in it. But not artsy like pretentious, artsy like off the wall and fun. Billy Eliott, or Muriel's Wedding, or Saved! That's how I stumbled upon Igby Goes Down.

And I know none of those are really under-the-radar movies, but I'd never heard of them when I saw them.

I also want to go play pool, but I have to stay here and watch my Sooners lose (and try to remember that sportschick is one of my favorite people here). Plus, pool's more fun in Austin. Believe me when I say I'll be playing when I get back, probably the night I get back.

Spup, that's a tip I'll try to remember. I tend to look at the cue ball so as not to completely miss it. (We're REALLY bad, though we try to play regularly.)

That's kinda like my bowling method. That little wrist-borne spinning thing that everyone but me seems to be able to do? No clue. I chuck the fucker right down the middle, and usually end up with either a strike or a 7-10 split every time. Yeah, bowling is a whole fucking lot of fun.

As for pool, I go back to a quote from one of my college buddies. Granted, he was talking about how to back into parking spaces, but it's all the same: "Angles, guys. It's all about the angles. So all y'all can go to hell."

I have posted 34 times today. For me, that is insane, since I go days and days without posting.

    Weird.
