For all the hype given to Snakes on a Plane, it sure went away real fast. It makes me scratch my head

Smokey's 13, LJB, and he's had a pretty good life for a kitty. We're going to make darn sure he goes out without pain, that's the biggest thing.

He's spent the last 36 hours at the vet, getting hydrated through an IV. He looked a hell of a lot more bright-eyed today when I stopped in to see him. We should be able to take him home tomorrow afternoon. Then we'll take him back for ultrasound and biopsy on Tuesday.

I think I know where I'd be without all those rums-and-coke (rum-and-cokes?) on New Year's Eve ... but I liked where I ended up instead. :D

Rum-and-cokes. Technically should be Coke, of course. But hey, it's not like that bothers the editor in me at all.

I'd like to be where you were, only now, instead of laying out a section and writing a story all on my own on deadline.

    Which reminds me . . . BYE!

My family had a tabby cat that had the same problem from 11 or so until she died at 13

I live in a really small freaktown that's becoming somewhat artsier by the day. New cartoon school, upscale eateries, the opera house puts on Broadway-like plays (Cats is in town not). I live in a historic (or is that "an" historic?) building across the street from the train station. An airport on the other side of the border/river is 2 miles by bird's flight. Brushing my teeth now, standing next to the open window, I listened to the quiet hum of night here. Eerily quiet except for the juice you can hear running through electricity wire; car dealer flags flapping in the breeze; just quiet. Then a cessna's motor started at the airport, which I found odd because I've never heard a cessna fly at midnight. Then I heard a train in the yonder approaching. We get wireless Internet through the railroad's server, but when trains come through it disrupts the service and makes everything s-l-o-w. Just like the sounds of tonight, midnight, early January, when it's 40 degrees. Too warm for New England for January. Tomorrow it's going to be in the 50s. Insane. Was Al Gore right?

And want to rent it via Netflix, now that it's out on DVD.

Did anyone else know that Bill Laimbeer once played a Sleestak while in college? Doesn't seem like a thespian stretch for the bad boy...

I can feeling coming. My wife's going to fuck me in the ass. Not like boots' girl, though. I'm only getting the strap-on in the figurative.

I've seen the promos for this Grease audition thing, and I just can't wait till I'm forced to watch the bullshit week after excruciating week. ::)
