I just went 3.2 miles on the treadmill. Then I ate sushi. It was good.

I'd choose 3.2 miles of running over sushi.

I'd just run over the sushi.

I shut the door to my utility room the other night so I could hear my brother on the phone while the washer and dryer were running. I then went out drinking, came home 4 hours later and realized I'd forgotten to open the door and my cats were desperate for a potty break. I giggled and I'm on my way to hell for it.

I should have gone for a run today, but I didn't. Now I feel guilty.

I couldn't run 2 days in a row, so I rode the exercise bike 20 miles. I'd like to ride farther, but it's sooooooo boring after about 45 minutes.

After several months and variations I've found, I think, the right run program on the mill: 5 minutes of warmup at 3.7 speed. Then run 2 minutes at 7.5, walk 2 minutes at 3.7, repeat for one hour. After the 5-minute cooldown the calories burned is about 930 and total mileage is about 5.4.

I either run 4 miles at a steady 6.0 clip, 2 miles where I start at 6.0 and increase the speed progressively up to 7.7, 8.0 or 1.25 miles at 7.0. The last two include 20-30 minutes on the bike afterward.

Sight guaranteed to freak you out: The fire department and ambulance service parked in front of your elderly neighbor's house at 10:30 p.m. Their lights are off. You never heard them pull up, and the TV wasn't that loud.

(She had a broken hip; went through surgery today but should eventually be OK)

You'd be more freaked out if you came home to have dinner with your visiting parents to find an ambulance and fire truck parked outside -- with the lights on.
