Reacher is now out on Prime, with 4 1/2 stars. Saw the first episode and liked it. Very tense throughout. Obviously a different feel from the Tom Cruise version.

I’ll end up watching the rest.

My wife and I watched all 8 episodes Friday afternoon. Can't wait for season 2, whenever that is. This isn't Tom Cruise portraying a guy nearly a foot taller and probably 100 pounds heavier, but as Killick said, this is Jack Fucking Reacher.

Damn, that was good. Finished the season.

“Damn, Finley. Without the suit, you’re kinda jacked!”

    “Really?”

    “No.”

When the Cruise version came out I had read ever single book and while I still enjoyed the movies there was something missing to me.

Now THIS is the true adaptation, or at least a better one. He’s exudes Reacher in every way, the physique but more importantly the hesitation in his speaking.

I'm going to have to watch this. I've seen mixed reviews, with the negative ones mostly focusing on criticism of Ritchson's acting.

I’ve seen a million promos for “Reacher” and it looks like they’ve made a crime drama “Seinfeld” spin-off called “Puddy.”

If you like Jack Reacher, you owe it to yourself to read Travis McGee.

I don’t get the criticism of Ritchson’s acting in this. Reacher is a stoic figure in the books, isn’t glib. Clearly, that’s what they were going for here.

I think what's hard for them to do on film that is easy in a book is expressing Reacher's internal dialogue. He's observant and intelligent with a well developed bullshit detector, and they can get a bit of that across, but without being able to lay out his thought processes he comes across more thuggish than he might if you somehow had access to them.

Big as he is, he's still only 6'1", 6'2", not Reacher's 6'5", but he embodies the sheer physical menace of the character far better than Cruise ever could.

That I can imagine. Cruise is a much better actor, but Ritchson has played a physically intimidating badass before.

I guess there is something beautiful in perfecting a formula.
