Recent celebrity sighting (here's mine, add yours) ...

I'm sorry about your grandmother, but that was the funniest thing I've read all day...and today I learned who John D. Villarreal was, so that's really saying something.

Man, I fucking hate Wade Boggs.

 

Living in L.A., I have celebrity sightings all the time. We actually have a rule on the news desk, (I work on the news desk and write in sports), that if there is ever a celebrity sighting it needs to be called in to whoever is the Page 1 designer that night. Not for publication, but just to keep track. We've seen Mrs. C driving her Rolls Royce in Woodland Hills. Another saw the one-armed drummer from Def Leppard in Target. A third met Mike Tyson in a Rite-Aid Drug Store. The best I had was seeing Tiffany Amber Thiesen behind me in her Escalade while I was getting off the 101 Freeway at De Soto and she caught me staring at her. I was a little embarassed, but it was one of those, "She looks familiar, but I can't remember where I know her from" moments.
Some of my favorite run-ins were Jane Pauley at the Indianapolis 500, Patrick Dempsey at the Long Beach Grand Prix and Melissa Joan Hart, who I saw for about six weekends straight between the NASCAR race in Fontana and the Indy 500 one year.

 

Johnny Holliday is the same way. One of the nicest and most genuine people I have ever met, and he just loves college hoops. I just don't like Dicky V's voice. That's my only beef with him.

 

I can't for the life of me figure out who Mrs. C is.

 

Is it Mrs. Cunningham, Richie's mom?

Chris Kirkpatrick's (of NSYNC fame) mother lives at some trailer park on the outskirts of town.

 

When I was a whitewater raft guide, I had a beer with Robert D. Raiford (John Boy and Billy curmudgeon). He was on my trip.
I can't stand him on the show - I turn the dial when he comes on - but he was an OK guy to shoot the shit with.

 

HAAAAAAhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. ha
