I saw Jeter at a Marriott lobby bar in Costa Rica two weeks ago. Needless to say, the wife wanted me to have a drink or two while she stared at him.

I'm sure he was talking about the game, but I can't stop laughing at the thought of Dickie V saying that as he heads into the crapper with a USA Today tucked under his arm.

The wife and I were wandering through the a Belk department store a while back. We head to the elevator and there's all these Belk employees standing there. Doors open, five security guards push their way forward, and Gene Simmons walks straight past me. He was there to do an autograph signing and promote Kiss brand perfume. So you, too, can smell like Gene Simmons.
In my ever-so-cool way, I look at him and say, "Heeey man, how's it going?"
He just smiles and keeps walking. We get on the elevator and the wife asks who that was. I tell her Gene Simmons. She says, "Oh. Cool."
We go on with our day, although she still kids me about my comment to him.

    These thread-jacks never get old.

The sauce-a, you can have, but the secret, she's-a mine.

Shook hands with the actor who plays Marlo from The Wire on a JetBlue flight last summer.

There were the two times I was at a Southside Johnny concert when Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi came on stage to join him for some songs.

The first time, was at the Stone Pony (a bar in Asbury Park) and myself and some of the fans around me spotted Patti Scialfa (Bruce's wife) and Jon hanging out sidestage, but no sign of Bruce. At one point the two of them leave, a few people around me start saying 'I guess this means Bruce isn't going to show up'. I jokingly respond 'no, they just left to get Bruce'. Two songs later Bruce is walking on stage.

There was the time about 10 years ago when I was at a tiny little bar in Long Branch, NJ watching Bobby Bandiera (Southside Johnny's guitarist) play a solo show. I'm hanging out and who walks right past me and proceeds to sit down with a group of people at a table to watch the show? Jon Bon Jovi. A few years later when Jon was doing some shows away from the band Bon Jovi, Bobby was his lead guitarist.

I've also spotted Tom Hanks, Bob Costas, James Gandolfini, Kris Kristopherson, Stephen King, Ed Sciaky (legendary DJ in Philadelphia), and Hulk Hogan and the many Springsteen concerts I've been to.

That'd be an awesome story if it was Michael Jeter.

While strolling through the park one day.
In the merry, merry month of May.
    I was taken by surprise.
By a pair of roguish eyes
And it was, um, that guy from MASH

You know where I live, so you can imagine the people I see...

Most recently, saw Sen. George Voinovich (R-Ohio) in the terminal at National. He was left waiting while his Continental flight pushed back... D'oh!

On a more unexpected note, my wife and I saw Kerri Strug in a nearby Harris Teeter.

And yes, it was the voice that gave it away. Well, and the fact that she's like 4-11.

    Which guy from MASH?

And my latest one was drinking in an Applebees with Vance Wilson and Brandon Inge. Very nice guys.

I thanked Mr. Inge with a drink for helping me to my fantasy baseball league title a few years ago.
