This made me laugh. Extremely hard.

I shared an elevator with Richard Thomas in D.C., interviewed John Ashcroft (along with McGruff) in college, and bugged Ellie Hendricks for an autograph two hours after a game at Baltimore's old stadium.

On vacation, my parents and I were dining in a downtown Salt Lake City hotel when another party was seated at a nearby table: Roy Rogers and family.

Oh, wait. That happened in July of 1959. Probably not "recent" enough, huh? Never mind.

Walking around Manhattan, see a lot of celebs. In the few weeks:

-- Matt Lauer walking with, I believe, his son. Seen him a few times and each time I'm amazed how short he is.

-- Saw the blond one from The View at the doctor's office.

-- Baba Booey from the Stern show in midtown.

-- Keith Olbermann walking on Park Avenue with a woman and telling her "So I decided to go to his office at 30 Rock to talk to him directly." Was dying to hear the rest of the conversation.

Nothing recent. All mine would be a few years old. I'll check back later and see if people want me to post them or not .

ESJ -- any Bruce-related sightings? I've never seen him, but I have seen Stevie, Max and Nils a number of times. Big Man and Roy once each. Gary lived in the same development where my in-laws have a shore house, but he moved out after a year.

Sang with Gordon Lightfoot on Christmas Eve.

Sang a funeral with the bass player from "Our Lady Peace" a few months ago.

Not to mention the many SJ celebrities I was privileged to meet last summer. (IJAG roolz)

I think I saw Borat at the deli, but he shaved his moustache, so I could not tell if it was really him.

Only Bruce sightings I've had were at concerts - either his own or someone else he showed up and jammed with. Haven't seen any E Streeters in a non-concert setting.
There was the time about 8-9 years ago Max Weinberg was part of a band at his wife's birthday party at a bar/restaurant in Sea Bright and they had opened the festivities up to the public for $10-$15 a head. The band was featuring Mark Pender, Richie "La Bamba" Rosenberg, Steve Van Zandt, and some others I forget, Bruce was supposed to show. I caught wind of this and made the trip out. Bruce didn't show, but I embarrassed myself before the show.. the line for the public was outside the bar and the party was going to be in an upstairs room. I had ducked inside to use the bathroom and get a drink and saw some women hanging out by the staircase. I mentioned to them that the line was outside, and it turns out one of them was Max's wife.

I did have a Jon Bon Jovi sighting in the late 90s. I was at a bar in Long Branch watching Bobby Bandiera's band and who should come into the bar to watch the show.. Jon Bon Jovi. He just sat a booth in the back and watched, only one or two people went to bother him for an autograph.
