Before or after his treatment for sex addiction?

Yeah but he is almost blind. So he probably isn't as taken aback by your visage as the rest of us. ;)

And you saw it, hence, the celebrity sighting?

No wonder you're such a freak.

He made a wisecrack at his game last night: I only have one eye, how did it look to you?

I saw Jared on a flight from Atlanta to Indianapolis last month.

My celebrity sightings aren't real recent.
... Met Ashton Kutcher at the Hard Rock Casino in Vegas once. Apparently we both had money on a Dolphins game, so we got to talking. Seemed like a decent enough dude.
... Met Korn's lead singer on a flight from Phoenix to Long Beach.
... Saw that Julie chick from the first Real World making out with some dude like her ship was going down on the ferry from Martha's Vineyard to Woods Hole once.
... Saw MJ betting way too much money on a hand of baccarat at Bally's in Vegas.

    That's great.

OK, so he's a great guy. I'd still rather hammer my skull open or stab my eardrums with rusty screwdrivers than listen to him on a telecast.

Edit: Cosmo, you saw Julie from Real World I? I would have broken up that tonguefest!!! :D :D

I'll echo the Vitale sentiments. He's a very nice guy and I few years ago I didn't mind watching him do a game at all. Nowadays I think he gets too wrapped up in the game he's doing next or the game he did last week or how great the ACC is. If I'm watching him do the Cincy-Xavier game I don't want to hear him gush about Duke and Kansas and UNC all night.

The thing is when you get the opportunity to talk to him for a few minutes it's clear he has great insight to the game, but while he's broadcasting he's too busy being "Dick Vitale" and doesn't spend enough time just being an analyst.

He's from eastern Long Island and is a regular at Stony Brook University athletic events, a program that's about as obscure as you can get. He'll sit on press row (in his flannel, of course) for basketball games. Once saw him walking into a game alone. Doesn't get much more unassuming than that.

I have never seen someone famous outside of the context of work.

I saw Jimmy Fallon standing on a street corner a couple months ago. I told him I saw Fever Pitch and I wanted my $20 back.
