Reid: Gundy's rant ruined my life

I've been eagerly awaiting on the Tom Petty/sprnted book on who A-Rod's been sleeping with. Now THAT'S a national news story.

— Anyone that doesn't see this story as deserving of a place on ESPN.com really doesn't get it. The people involved don't earn it that spot. The tremendous exposure the youtube clip got does, however.

 

jesus christ. reread the posts i responded to. never once was the conversation geared toward not doing the story.

it was a pretty simple point ... not as many people know who gundy is as some people would like to think.

I know all about it. I still don't think it was unfair.

 

Of course it was slanted towards Reid's side because the only sides we've heard when it happened was Gundy's and Carlson's.

IJAG bailed my ass out tonight because I wasn't aware that this thread was up and I posted one up tonight after seeing the piece on ESPN.

I always felt that Reid was soft then, but it didn't help matters much when Gundy not only threw him under the bus, but then went off on his rant to defend him. The rant was geniune because it wasn't that he was defending Reid (he wasn't), it was Carlson calling bullshit on Gundy for not being upfront on why Reid wasn't starting and Zac Robinson was under center. That was the real point of the article when I initially read it last September.

No one won here, and yeah, while it should not be such a big story, it was about time to hear what the main person in this mess finally had to say.
