If it’s postnasal drip, I highly recommend a Neti pot.

Does not have to be a pot either. I think Sinu-Rinse has a squirt bottle approach, which actually is a more powerful flow for dislodging stuff.

Otherwise, the aforementioned Halls or RI-CO-LA (!) are very good.

Back as a kid, I relied on the Cloraseptic spray. Green. But they make Cherry and perhaps other flavors now. That green stuff was instant numbing and instant relief.

    Feel better soon.

My wife swears by the squirt bottle stuff, I think it's gross but that's usually the sign of something that works.

When I feel a cold coming on, I eat very hot food, usually pho or Korean cup noodles with additional hot chili oil and/or sriracha. Horseradish does the trick, too.

I do, too and usually mix it with condiments. Ex: w/catsup for "root shrimp," w/"mayo" and my own seitan when I crave Arby's...

BTW, most American "wasabi" paste contains more horseradish than wasabi root. Real wasabi will make you feel the weird burn that hits your sinuses and feels like it's going to bore through the back of your skull.

When I was a kid, it was Raki or Roki, a Turkish liqueur. My Armenian grandma gave it to me. Potent. Tastes like black licorice or black jelly beans. Very similar to the Greek Ouzo. Armenians and Greeks have a lot of similarities. Did I say POTENT?

Did you like it? I love licorice but have been told repeatedly it's very bad for you.

    Yes!!!
It is not black licorice, just tastes like it. There are grapes in the distilling process, thus the raisins that Song craves.

I have the Neti pot/squirt bottle. I hate doing it but I feel so much better after I use it.

Drink pineapple juice for the sore throat. Won't burn like other juices — feels like silk going down — and it's healthy.
Just make sure it's pineapple juice, and not any blends.
