Isn't that what he was hired for?

No doubt. I think Bosh may've just leapt to the top of the "most overpaid" list for the next half-decade. 23 mill is grotesquely more than he's worth anyways, regardless of duration, but giving him FIVE YEARS at that price is flat out insane.

Strikes me as Riley putting himself above the franchise's long term interests. This is to ensure the Heat remain at least fairly competitive until he retires in a year or two, and then he'll let the next guy deal with the negative consequences of this crazy contract.

But he can't do it without Arison's say-so.

He was right. Isn't that the only way to really measure these things?

It wasn't when I was in school. "Show your work" trumped "But I got the right answer" every time, unfortunately.

Umm. No. A bunch of idiots on Twitter said the same thing. I know Sheridan is a pretty good reporter, but the fact that he's eventually right means squat. But maybe he did have a plugged-in source, even if he was duped by the fake Broussard account.

    From his Twitter:

Thanks for kind words folks. Just doing my job. Wouldn't have reported it as done deal unless I was absolutely certain, which I was.

Awesome job by @SI_LeeJenkins and fellow staffers to keep things quiet. So hard in this day and age #muchrespect

Guees he just used "Broussard" to confirm his own report.

Amen. Some of the stuff I'm seeing on the wires reads like this is the Second Coming. Think I'll stick with a World Cup preview and story on local soccer leagues for my centerpiece.

It is. But this was the one he had to break, and didn't.

I'd be more concerned that Windhorst didn't break this one.
