Was there a recent Pearlman dig at the board that I’m unaware of?

Was there a resolution with this TV guy's arrest? I've seen the video, or a video, and it appeared that the "get out now" guy was far more loud and beligerent. Pretty much a fucking asshole, to be honest.

Now that the video makes clear what happened, and who was aggressive and who wasn't, I'm sure the cops and the DA and the Governor hope this just goes away unremembered.

Appointment of a special state prosecutor likely means it won't.

But it also won't amount to anything.

Some "retraining" perhaps, but no real punishment for the police. Maybe another public apology.

    Maybe.

The easiest way to fix this is to end qualified immunity. When it's their own money at stake, they might think twice before going Full Jackboot.

In what states would the legislature and governor support that?

Very, very, very few. Maybe none. Deification of police has become ingrained in our nation's identity.

I meant easiest method if ever implemented.

Nothing will happen to the National Guard guy, either. Cops will be told "be nice on camera" and it'll happen again.

    In regard to ending indemnification:

None, or they already would have attempted it.

First step in the process would be a different SCOTUS.

    • Clarence Thomas, 74
    • Samuel Alito, 72
    • John Roberts, 68
    • Brett Kavanaugh, 58
    • Neil Gorsuch, 55
    • Amy Coney Barrett, 51
Thomas and Alito are at the high end of the actuary tables. There's hope.
