    I have no idea.
I think I went to one in Maryland or Virginia in 1982. That is the extent of my Stucky's/Stuckey's knowledge.
I think there was a fireworks stand and my parent wouldn't let me buy any.

They're known for pecan logs smothered in gravy, right?

It is. A Stuckey's right off I-64 was my go-to stop on my way home from William and Mary for many years.

Okay. Here's a story from my sad existence. I am highly allergic to peanuts, and as a kid was advised to stay away from all nuts. We used to pass a LOT of Stuckey's in TN, NC and VA. But my mom wouldn't let us stop at any of them because of those pecans.

My uncles in TN made up for it by letting me play with M80s though.

I heard @Vombatus was very disappointed after stopping at a TA off the highway. Good thing he had Cafe Risqué and Lion's Den to make it all better.

We had a four- or five-year stretch where we drove from New Jersey to Florida every year for vacation. Stopped at many a Stuckey's on that route along I-95. As a kid, I used to love the little toy store that I could look but never buy from. Never had money of my own, and my parents wouldn't buy me the cool toy bow and arrow set I wanted.
Guess we had to save our money for South of the Border.

My dad loved Stuckey's, too. So long ago I can't remember why but we stopped at a lot of them.

It was always right there at the interstate exit. Easy, familiar stop, with food and gas.

Are there still Tony Roma's? I always liked their food back in the day.

And yeah, Checker's/Rally's is a regional thing. There are about 6 or 8 Checker's within a 20-mile radius of my house.

I remember at one point during my senior year of high school (1990-91), if you bought a Checker's combo meal, you got a free ticket to Steppenwolf. It was actually just John Kay and a bunch of dudes.

It's probably been mentioned, but Quincy's Family Steak House (home of the big fat yeast roll) used to be all over the place around here. Most of them have been converted to Chinese buffets.

Quincy's was the only place my grandfather ever went to eat out, once a year on his birthday.
