Considering Landis' Mennonite background, he probably thought it was modern.

Alley, the impact will be determined by the B sample and what the TdF directors do it it is positive.

This will be very interesting. Especially concerning how the European cycling fans react.

So the positive test came after the stage in which he made up all that time toward the end of the race....suspicious

  4. If cycling isn't careful, it soon will have about as much credibility as international track and field or WWE.

  5. I'm just going to apply common sense for a moment, which is a scary thing to do around here.

    - Cycling clearly is chock full of cheaters. So how does a non-cheater (Lance) dominate a sport filled with cheaters? Oh, that's right, he's got better lung capacity.

    - Pretty much every cyclist that ever ran with Lance said he was doping. They might have had an axe to grind or an agenda, but it doesn't mean they're lying. (See: Jose Canseco)

    - The most damning testimony was that Lance's former friends testified against him. These are people with no axe to grind, and no reason to lie. From what I read, they didn't even want to testify. They were there when Lance told doctors he used performance-enhancing drugs.

    - Let's call upon our eyesight and again, common sense. Do you really think a cancer survivor can win one of the most grueling sporting events in the world seven straight times without any help whatsoever?

As for why the American media hasn't touched Lance Armstrong, one simple reason: We don't care about cycling.

that's kind of what i was getting at. he's either the single greatest athlete of all-time or he won cheating against other cheaters. God, cycling is giving me a headache.

    Landis cheated on his wife?

It may have already reached that point with mainstream sports fans if the Landis story is true.

Well, if we're going to say that about Armstrong shouldn't we say it against Indurain and LeMond? They were winning Tours back when it was practically anything goes in terms of doping.

It reached that level before this year's Tour even started.
