In second grade, I double-flipped off a girl who was taking a yearbook photo during recess. In the picture, I was also sporting a full Raiders wind suit. I denied it was me, even though I was wearing the same outfit the day I got confronted about it. Beats getting interrogated at Foxwoods because "someone who fit my profile" started a fire in the parking garage.

I got an ace last year and had the pleasure of writing the golf brief for the paper myself. I buried it so no one would harass me about showing off. I felt like a douche typing it, but I was on briefs that day.

 

1. I made more money off quiz bowl in high school than any of my classmates did for athletics.
2. I have sung the national anthems of both the United States and Canada at events I have covered.
3. My grandest athletic achievement was getting a line drive in the face in Little League, nearly biting through my tongue, then getting up and striking out the other team's best hitter for the save. Now, I wish I'd done a little Jose Valverde thing after that.

 

I almost forgot my most random facts.

1.) My football teams lost six games the entire four years I played (one championship)
2.) I threw a no-hitter ... and lost
3.) My high school basketball coach called a timeout to take me out of the game after a failed dunk (I'm 5'6" but could grab the rim in high school)
4.) I hit eight three-pointers in the first half of a game, and my best friend hit nine in the second, against a school four classifications higher than us.
