    1. I haven't slept in my bedroom since the Sept. 11 attacks.
    2. I have fallen out of a boat and to this day cannot swim.
    3. I had lunch at Nolan Ryan's house. At the time, I had no idea who he was.

  3. Was twice mistaken for Darius Rucker

Shared drinks with Harry Kalas and Richie Ashburn at the Astrodome

Two rotator cuff surgeries and three dislocations have resulted in 80 percent of my clavicle being shaved off.

  4. I don't believe in ghosts, bigfoot or a higher power, but I will NOT cross the Rocky Mountains until after 2035 because I am worried I will be in California when the big one hits and the state drops into the Pacific Ocean.

My life goal is to play a round of golf at every golf course in the state of West Virginia.

I bite my nails something awful. It looks like weevils have gnawed on the ends of my hands, particularly my thumbs.

I ate dinner Saturday night under the tail of the Spruce Goose.

My nephew, who was born a few years after I learned to play guitar, smack-dab during my most intense and voracious period of reading every issue of Rolling Stone, and who learned to play guitar because of me, was part of the train tour headlined by Mumford & Sons and is pictured in the latest issue of Rolling Stone.

The first time I went inside the Astrodome, the playing field was still natural grass.

    1. I had two random encounters with Wayne Gretzky, 20 years apart. (Also a third professional one, in which I ended posing for a photo with Gretzky, Bill Russell and Barry Bonds.)

    2. I have never had a job outside of sports journalism.

    3. Once, when between jobs, I spent a solid hour online researching sperm donation before I remembered that I had a vasectomy.

    4. (Bonus) I finished 54th out of 2,126 at my first World Series of Poker event -- and the next year I busted on the 6th hand.

    Three more from me ...

    1. I have seen every Hannah Montana episode ever made (thanks to the wee little girl child of mine ...)
    2. I have books on my shelves that I have read 15-20 times.
    3. I was once ejected from a church league basketball game, for taking the Lord's name in vain after an errant elbow caught me in the mush.

If your nephew is in Mumford & Sons, could he hook a dude up with some face value tickets?

    1. My 12-year-old batting average was .538.
    2. I pitched once. I faced 17 batters, walked 15 and gave up two hits.
    3. I am not distantly related to any celebrity of any kind.

Well, if several others are posting 3 more:
    4. I have never been drunk
    5. I spent several weeks in Kazakhstan shortly after it became an independent country.
    6. I met Don Henley before I really knew who he was, and we've had dinner several times now.
