If a band can be great and overrated, it's the Dead.

    They're the soccer of bands.

Don't let the over zealous fans prevent you from listening to a terrific band.

So this is how the Winehouse thread carries to 14 pages ... by tossing out the question of whether The Dead is overrated and/or awesome.
They are certainly awesome. They are the best band ever to come from the United States.
    So talented and diverse.

Depends on how much flute one needs in a band. Ian Anderson played more than Peter Gabriel, but Pete did some, including for "Firth of Fifth" and "The Musical Box."

    But I am biased.

Fair enough. FWIW, I've been to two Rush shows where I had to breathe carefully to avoid the pot smoke clouds. The Dead and Parrotheads are not alone ...

There are times in life ... when you just have to let life wash over you. :)

I hear you, good sir. But the music is enough ... all the pot smoke did was irritate my eyes to excess. I don't need to see Geddy, Alex and Neil to enjoy, but it helps to be able to see when driving away from the venue.

Rush!?! Now there's a band that sucks!

Parrotheads these days are more likely to offer you a glass of white wine than a joint. The demographic has really shifted since my first show in 1984. It's gotten older and richer, just like Buffett.

No drugs in her system, kids. Probably murder.

Does "no illegal substances" include prescription drugs?

I'd say good money would favor a combination of prescription drugs and alcohol.

They did say alcohol was in her system, but no mention of prescriptions. I'm guessing she was probably on quite a cocktail of pills (prescribed by doctors) due to her "fragile" state. She probably wasn't supposed to mix those with alcohol.

Family suggests sudden withdrawal from alcohol. Seems a bit of a stretch, but you never know.
