Exactly. Nobody thinks precedent should always stand. Democrats want to overturn Citizens United. Republicans want to overturn Roe v. Wade.

A few random thoughts on politics and the nomination:
    1) If Clinton wins the presidency in November, will McConnell and a lame-duck Senate quickly approve Garland's nomination, thnking that they're better off with him than whatever liberal Clinton nominates?
    2) Prior to Iowa and New Hampshire, everyone said Trump has no chance to win the nomination and look what's happened. Now everyone is saying there's no way he'll beat Clinton. Hopefully the "experts" aren't under-estimating him again.
    3) There's voter anger in the "red states" which is the reason they're voting for Trump. Does that anger extend to their Senators and Congressmen? Will they re-elect the same people, vote in new people of the same party, or flip the party of the seat?
    4) If Trump wins the presidency will Judge Judy be his pick for the Supreme Court?

I think Republicans want to overturn Obergefell v. Hodges before they overturn Roe v. Wade.

I'm pretty confident you're wrong on this. The issue with Roe is three-fold. First, the magnitude of the stakes, but also the fact that it was such a poorly reasoned and written decision. Even those who agree with the result acknowledge that it reads like a statute. Finally, the big difference is that Roe took the issue away from the democratic process, whereas Obergefell allowed the public perception to shift before removing the issue from the people. Some might call that leading from behind, but to me it seems a more sound role for the court in almost all cases.

I am suffering a little cognitive dissonance from the fact that liberals are arguing about what a centrist pragmatis Hillary is in making the case for her as president - then sending out these warnings to McConnell that he better confirm Garland, or look out when Hillary picks.

No indication that they talked to 300 of them, but the Trib has already tracked down Garland's high school classmates.

Wonder when they'll find a few of Hillary's.

NPR already did find a few:

Chicago Tribune did as well during her first year as First Lady.

Pals From High School Share Hillary's Success

According to this, a bunch of her classmates stumped for her in Iowa.

Hillary turns to high school pals to prove she’s likable

Maybe you should stick to believing the coal mining industry is doing "perfectly fine."
