Jonas Salk was good on the glass but he never hustled back on defense. I guess that's why the media put him under a microscope.

 

But did he make A1 today?

 

There haven't been that many coaches who have transitioned well from college to the NBA. IIRC, Tark only lasted about a quarter of a season with the pre-Pop Spurs. If Knight tried some of the stuff he did with pro players, there would have been a rebellion. OTOH, Coach K blends in well with the NBA players during the Olympics or other events because his personality is different than Knight's, and it's only for a few months, counting camp.

With print deadlines, especially Gannett's Indy Star, I wonder if they got it.

 

I can't stand false equivalencies like this, and that is NOT to say that I thought Bob Knight was a genius.

But genius can mean very different things for different people. Some people think Joey Chestnut is a genius, for god's sake.

 

Did Jonas Salk ever emerge from a bathroom stall with a handful of excrement, and tell the other scientists that they were sciencing like crap?
