RIP to a man with an all-time great pickup line, which doesn't seem to be making it into the obits I have read.

My bad but it has been 30 years. The Nuggets won the last three games of a five game series.

Including games four and five in overtime. First eight over a one in NBA history.

    RIP.

I remember when Theo Ratliff got injured and the Sixers traded for Mutombo mid-season, I thought it was a huge mistake, especially since they were 42-14 at the time.

But he won me over pretty quickly. I don’t know if anyone could’ve stopped Shaq that season, but Mutombo played him about as well as humanly possible. He also added more offense than I ever expected.

Wasn’t that the series that was the Robert Pack come out party and he came out and was just dunking all over everyone and everything?

Was a big fan of Deke during his time with the Hawks, with the Lenny Wilkens-coached teams -- before the front office flushed everything away by trading for Isaiah Rider.

A wonderful man. I met him once covering the Special Olympics, which he had taken on a global ambassador role in. But one of my high school classmates, who became a medical doctor, met him in Atlanta and worked with him for years doing humanitarian efforts in Africa, running clinics in different areas and she even spend some considerable time as a resident in his hospital in Congo. Always spoke how he really lived for wanting to bring modern medicine and modern health care to as many people as he could.

That's the truth. Poor Lenny. If you ever run into Steve Holman, ask him about that specific time.
    RIP, sir

If he's not proof that Only The Good Die Young, then it just doesn't exist.

The stories that came out about how he was trying to help out people back in Democratic Republic of the Congo, then other places in Africa, seemed almost endless.

He seemed bound and determined to save as much of Africa and further the cause as much as anyone I've ever seen. May someone else come along and continue to wag their finger for the cause.

RIP, good sir and Thank You.

It's hard for me to put into words how much I despise this guy.

I wish his daughter, Elle King, would inform him that she's going to get a vaccine and plans to tell everyone that she did.

EDIT: It turns out that she is not afraid to call out her father. From a story today:
