Are you trying to say Jesus Christ can’t hit a curveball?

Former Cleveland Indians pitcher Eddie Harris, who once implied that Jesus Christ would make one hell of a baseball player, died instantly yesterday when he was struck down by three consecutive bolts of lightning. Harris, a one-time staff ace who later struggled with various arm injuries, went 77-79 in his MLB career.

A brief stint as an assistant high school basketball coach in Indiana also ended abruptly.

Conrad Hilton in Mad Men, too. Wish he appeared in the SCDP seasons.

Also portrayed a villainous Dan Devine in Rudy. In real life, Devine agreed to be portrayed as the bad guy in the film, but was upset by how the filmmakers treated him, especially during the fictional jersey scene.

Did all the lightning strikes occur on the Monon line? No wonder Norman Dale didn't take him up on his offer ...

However he found a second career as a railroad scheduling agent and dispatcher who found a clientele willing to have their asses hide-strapped to a pine rail and shipped on down the Monon Line.

The last laugh on Rudy belongs to Joe Montana, who suggested as a practical joke the team carry Rudy off on their shoulders, according to the Montana documentary on Peacock. It's the climatic scene in "Rudy."

Thought about this thread when I heard Gilbert Gottfried's obituary on NPR. They led by calling him a comedian and former SNL castmember. He was on SNL for 12 episodes in their least successful season 40+ years ago and got fired along with most of the rest of the cast.
