RIP Jimmy Buffett

    Couple of things working in favor of that theory. Home base for Lulu’s, his sister’s chain of beach restaurants. And just down the street from the Flora-Bama Lounge, of which he sang in Bama Breeze.

    I know they're going to play a couple of the sing-a-longs, but I wish they'd throw in a deep cut to show Buffett's range as a songwriter.

    Aside from 5'o clock, was Buffett ever involved, mentioned, appeared or nominated by the CMAs? Glad he's getting a tribute though.

    He had a journalism career in Nashville. He recorded quite a bit there. He got his ass kicked by Buford Pusser in the parking lot of the King of the Road Motor Inn.
    I do think he got some love recording with Zac Brown.

    And he helped move a lot of records for other artists, I know (Chesney et. al) - I just don't know if ever really got his "due" from the industry.
