Sorry to hear about Fingers. He makes an appearance in this ep. of Texas Connection.

 

When Fingers Taylor comes out, Buffett says "I met him the same place I met Jerry Jeff, at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, where tomorrow is yesterday."

 

It says something about the power of SEC football that kids in that state willingly go spend four years in Starkville or Oxford instead of begging to transfer to Hattiesburg.

Having spent 18 years on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and seen plenty of Hattiesburg and USM in that time, I'd say, yes, this is accurate.

It's been 6 months since JB died. There still isn't any official memorial merchandise listed. I'd buy a t-shirt.
There were ripoffs available online before his body was cold, but there isn't any licensed stuff. That's a shame.
