The only "things that happen in frigid places" reference I remember is an early election episode when a winter storm caused WJM to lose its access to election updates. So all night long they kept posting the initial results, "Turner 85, Mitchell 23." Ted was a basket case by early morning, trying to ad-lib without any news, until Chuckles came in for his 6 a.m. show and announced the winner.

An excellent episode, especially the section where punch drunk Ted is interviewing the clergyman who came in to do the morning opening prayer.

I also thought the Lou Grant character's cred got stretched a little when he found himself cash-strapped and then chose to become an armored-truck driver, with the intention of robbing the truck until Christian Slater interfered.

15 minutes into the CBS special, and I'm convinced it's really all about Oprah.

No shit, I wouldn't have watched if I knew it was really an Oprah tribute.

Now this segment with Charlie Rose, I learned something (but when don't you in a Charlie Rose interview). That I would have liked to see more of.

Thanks, I just watched this and needed a good laugh. MTM (and the writers) were great. Her performance at the funeral was hilarious.
