    I was never a huge fan, but I always suspected his shtick of being the over-the-top, look-at-me character came from some deep-seated issues. Sadness, unfortunately, is often the inspiration of the best comedians out there.

    Just so damn sad.

    Was he broke?

    Even with two failed marriages, that's hard to fathom. he had such a long career, worked pretty steadily, and was still working.

    Then again, addiction can cause you go through a fuck load of money.

    A helluva talent. He was a great comedian and a pretty damn good actor and humanitarian. This one is stunning. RIP.

    If he was broke, broke is being defined rather loosely. He died at his home in Tiburon. The most broke person in Tiburon is insanely wealthy.

    RIP. This really sucks. Such an enormous talent.
