    I think the middle period, The Classical period, killed it. That gang is capable of some really good work—I loved Flinder Boyd's stuff on The Classical's own site, for instance—but they are also capable of writing the most esoteric mumbo jumbo. I don't mind being challenged by stories, but some of their stuff could be just punishingly difficult to read and didn't often have the substance to make the sheer concentration it took to read them feel worth it.
