Reading these tributes has made the room considerably dustier this morning. RIP. Condolences to all of James' friends and family who are hurting. What awful news.

His passing is awful, awful news. Condolences to his family. I wish I'd been able to interact with him more.

BTW, something strange ... I clicked on his profile and he was last active on Friday at 10 p.m. CDT.

My guess is someone on the admin side went in there...maybe?

    Otherwise, that's really fuckin strange.

Can't Hardly Wait, which has the character Tripp McNeeley, was on today.
That part was a little sad.

Wow. I'm just hearing of this today, and I'm numb. I read some great posts. I'd be happy if anyone felt about me the way so many feel about Tripp.

I only communicated with Tripp on here a few times. I wish I'd come to know him as well as his friends and co-workers. So often, I see the people here as nothing more than some words on a screen. Often, I fail to respond to personal messages or respond with just a few words. Not anymore. Folks, if you're here, consider yourself my friend. Drop me a line anytime.

    And may Tripp rest peacefully.

Great points. And don't want to rain on this, but are we sure that it was a suicide (some posts have made it seem that way, others haven't).

Obviously, he was quite sad over his grandfather's passing. But James' passing could be 100 percent natural, just a sad, sad, sad coincidence that both passings came so close.

My point to this was that "suicide" (as some posters have hinted at) can carry a bad connotation to some people. It's probably smart not to guess at the cause of James' death unless people know for sure.

That said, There have been some great tributes to James here. It's terribly sad news.
    RIP James.

It is possible that he logs on automatically when he goes to the page so whoever may have used his computer may have logged in without knowing.

The Keisser story on the last page said he died in his sleep, which I suppose doesn't rule out suicide, but to me tends to imply a natural cause. (Many stories I've seen dealing with a suicide simply sidestep the causes/circumstances of the death entirely.)

I don't think anybody in the thread has flatly stated it was, one way or the other. I think most people had the same feeling I did -- it isn't for us to speculate. Either way, it's still very sad.

I don't think dixiehack was necessarily implying it was suicide: the emotional burden can be a crusher either way. Even if it's only for the sake of your sanity or your health if not your life directly, people should always be willing to ask for help if they need it.

Yea, I didn't mean to imply it was dixiehack that implied it.

Maybe I just read some of the posts wrong, but it did seem there were some hints that way.

And that was exactly my point, Starman. That we shouldn't speculate one way or the other on the incredibly sad news.
