Rush would DEFINITELY be above the fold of A1 (of the Toronto Star).[/obligatoryboardRushreference]

It's worth noting that Phil Collins was a big enough star in the 1980s that he:

    - Managed to create a starring film career for himself (not nearly as successful as Whitney Houston, for sure, but still a better acting career than Evan Dando or Lemmy)
    - Starred in an episode of "Miami Vice," which was pretty much THE hottest, hippest show of the mid-1980s
    - NBC gave him a whole primetime special to highlight "wacky" videos of his popular songs with Vanessa Williams and Gilbert Gottfried playing network executives. Which isn't as bizarre as his in-ring appearance with The Ultimate Warrior set to the tune of "Two Hearts".

    - I know the 80s were a different time and place and all and that we were all on drugs (even I did reams of cocaine, and I was 10). But anyone looking for fodder in the anti-Phil Collins camp just needs to remember the
    Or the song, really.
    - Again, this...

Bri could say "day," and Sam would say "night."
Bri says its black when Sam knows that it's white.

It's always the same. It's just a shame. That's all.

Whitney did an episode of Silver Spoons during her ascent. Not quite on the same level of Miami Vice.

I'm more of an IJAG well-wisher, in that I don't wish her any specific harm.

    My word association

Phil Collins: Live Aid, both sides
    Whitney Houston: Drugs

Regarding Bono, what would split on the obit be? 50-50 music and humanitarian work?

I remember a quote once where he said he wanted to be remembered as a musician with U2 because he hoped that AIDS, etc., would have been eradicated by the time he died. I don't see that happening.

19 pages and more comments about Phil Collins than Whitney.

When Phil dies, I am going to strike up a discussion about what song was Whitney's best.

When that bald prick dies there will be 19 pages about whether or not JOn Bon Jovi's death would warrant 1A.

Based on the opinions of some, you might want to change that to *if* he dies.

It's almost like there's nothing left here to remind us of her, just the memory of her face.

I'm not taking sides in the Brian-Sam kerfluffle, but Brian's "recitation" dig reminded me of this:
