That would be a good start.

    Think of the ratings!

I was driving home from work and had it on the station that plays the Michael Baisden show in the afternoon (It has Steve Harvey on in the morning, which is why it was what was on my radio). Baisden was going to do the 5 p.m. hour as a full-on Whitney tribute, but as I'm pulling out of the parking lot, there's a promo like "The loss of the amazing and talented Whitney Houston will be mourned for years to come' or some such.

It was spoken over the first notes of the next song to be played ... "Don't be Cruel" by Bobby Brown.

Probably could have led into ANYONE else and had it not ring as hollow.

I'm wondering if anyone received any feedback from higher ups about how they played the Houston story on Sunday. Seems like the numbers put up by CNN and the Grammys indicate a healthy appetite for the story.

True fact: Orville Redenbacher loved getting kettlecorned.

No question it's giving the people what they want.

...."The loss of the amazing and talented Whitney Houston will be mourned for years to come" or some such.

Right off, I liked Whitney Houston. I liked her songs. I was shocked when I saw the bulletin that she'd been found dead at just 48. But.....

All this love and praise and being an incredible pop star, .... she hasn't been for like 12-15 years! She's a "former" pop star, actress, amazing singer. What people are praising was how she used to be, not what she had become. So the sentimental overload is a bit over the top.

What they should have said at the Grammys last night was "Please, if you're doing drugs, stop. If you're not, (muffled laugh) don't start. Get help. Don't become another Whitney, Amy, Hendrix, etc etc. Drugs and alcohol robbed us of one of our brightest stars YEARS AGO. We will tonight remember her for the way we want to remember her, as she used to be."

Once spent a very enjoyable weekend in Vegas with a very enjoyable young lass, but the last night we were there, she go very, very, very drunk...so drunk, that she couldn't walk down the hallway to our room, falling to the floor frequently. So I scooped her up and carry her to the room, knowing that I'm on camera doing it...

Fast forward to the morning, and I wake up from being passed out, to the smell of puke. And an empty bed. I go into the bathroom, and my GF was passed out, in the bathtub, water cold as ice, and up to her chin.

Apparently some point in the night she puked all over herself, and took a bath. But I still think to this day how lucky I was that she didn't drown in that tub, which could have easily happened...and I would have been on tape carrying her to our room!
