I think it's a black church thing. Never been in one that wasn't hotter than hades.

DAYUM. Tyler Perry is taking it to CHURCH. I'm not a big fan of his in general, but he's in the moment here.

Didn't expect much from Costner, but thought he did a great job

What's the deal with the nurse in the crisp whites fluttering around? Distracting.

Just out of curiosity, is that a gospel choir with a lot of black people or a gospel choir with giant black people?

Whichever kind will wait through a 4 hour funeral for shiva kugel.

There is not a Jew on earth who would have lasted through that entire service.

It was a rather long service, and perhaps just a tad overdone in the public, media-driven sense given that Houston was a singer and not a head of state, or anything.

I really wound up not minding, though, because this really felt like something shared, and I appreciated being able to share in it.

A nice job all around by everybody, but it was the music that really did it for me. This showed how universal, and unifying, music can be when used in a postitive, respectful way.

Despite the length of this service, I'm glad I saw (most of) it. That's how music, and a good memorial tribute is supposed to make you feel.

    RIP, Whitney.

Fun drinking game: watch the inevitable reruns and take a shot every time someone says "angel." ;D
