Why don't they just let him live.

He was allowed two guests. He brought more.

    That's his prerogative.

What type of country do we live in when you can't seat your posse anywhere you demand?

a.) it was his kids, not his "posse."
b.) he sat where he was told to, three times.

That being said, I am NOT defending Brown. I don't care how many kids you have, if they invite you and say "plus 2" then you show up with two. You don't get to show up and make demands on a family at a time like that.

    Was Ted one of them?

    That made me laugh.

Yes. When he left, he said "Right, Ted? We outta here."

WTF did she see in Brown? He wasn't handsome, exceptionally talented, charming, etc. He wasn't on her level in any way.

She could have had anyone, and she picked him.

I could say this about probably 15 women in my own personal life.

Maybe she just saw herself as a street girl from Jersey.

Read something earlier that she had a dirty mouth even as a teen. Let fly a "fuck" behind stage and Clive Davis pulled her aside and said, "Madonna can get away with that. You cannot."

    I feel bad for Bobby.
He lost his mom in December, his dad in January and Whitney in February.
Whitney sang at his mom's funeral.
Whitney loved Bobby and it is not for me to judge Bobby.
I feel the Houstons treated Bobby terrible at the funeral.

If anyone is so inclined, the latest Slate Culture Gabfest podcast has a pretty good discussion on Whitney Houston, led by pop music critic Jody Rosen. They play an a capella version of "How Will I Know" which is really interesting to hear. My conclusion: The '80s production technique did not do her any favors, artistically. They also talk about her contribution in a larger context, terming the genre "buppie" music, or in other words music for upwardly mobile black professionals. They note that it is no surprise that the genre, also represented by singers like Anita Baker, came out of a time period that gave us "The Cosby Show."
