Hopefully for the last time Moddy, from what I understand Rob has made some journalistic mistakes. I don't know the particulars and I defintely don't know if everything that has been posted is true.
So in short, if you're asking me to agree with everything that has been posted here as absolute truth, I can't because I simply don't know.

OK, fair enough. You do agree that this press conference crack is not his first transgression?

What do the numbers represent slappy? You have a knack for following behind me with numbers. I don't know what they have to do with this topic.

Moddy, from talking to Rob and reading the column, the two have a "relationship".
I don't know the extent of it only those two can really comment on it.
Now as I said earlier, and I will repeat again because you haven't read the thread, I do not approve of what he did and told him so.
He has apologized and said it was a joke that backfired. Fine, I can live with that. People make jokes that backfire all of the time.

I have read the thread, I've just stayed away until today because it is like swimming in bullshit.

We're back to "this one mistake" thing. Given what others without a history of bullcrap have posted, I firmly believe this fellow - again, a person I don't know and have never read - has shown a pattern of letting his mouth get him into trouble. Assuming that is all true, this is a no brainer.
And with that, I'm off to play with my new dog.

Fortunately, you or I aren't in a position to make such a call. Have fun with the pup.

OK, here's the thing: When you are a newspaper columnist and appear on radio and TV, you are representing the paper. I'm betting that most of the time, he's not getting a big paycheck from either radio or TV and the newspaper is paying the bulk of his salary. I know this because I have been a beat writer appearing on radio and TV and trust me, they're not paying the mortgage. If that was the case, why wouldn't he have given up the column job and just been a radio/TV guy? Also, as has been mentioned, he never would have had either the radio or TV gigs in the first place if it weren't for the newspaper job. And journalists have to be better behaved than others because of the low opinion of journalists from the jump. He does not help the rest of us with his use of unnamed, clearly incorrect, sources and just throwing crap out there to see what will stick. He appears to be on strike 3 here and should be fired from his newspaper job. If he's so good and radio and TV with their somewhat lower level of journalism, he shouldn't have any trouble landing another position.

I think I might be a little late. But "Gene Banks" would have been a fine name for a puppy.
