Rob Parker controversy

    wrong again. rob was a sweet but in-over-his-head hack at the daily news. and everyone there knew it.

    his climb in this profession has been a crime. no rhyme intended.

    If he was over his head, he wouldn't have been making a paycheck.
    Jealousy may have a lot to do with what you are saying. I'm not saying you are jealous but he was a young African American kid who was working at his hometown paper. Many of his "colleagues" didn't like that. If I'm not mistaken, he covered the NBA and some MLB before going to Cincinnati to cover the Reds.
    I'm not saying that Rob was the best but he wasn't a lazy journalist in his early days at the DN. Obviously, things have changed.

    Parker is not well-liked by the other writers either, but he's not the complete outcast that Albom is.

    I covered a Lions game a few years back and every table in the dining area was packed, except for one, where only person sat... Albom...
