Slappy, I don't know you. If you say you're better, then I guess you have a bigger pay check, you're at a better paper, and your widely read. Good for you. However, if you aren't any of those things, you've lost whatever argument you want to bring up.
I'm just tired of people bashing Rob and the ones who do it, barely have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of journalistically speaking.

And that doesn't matter. You're the only one factoring that into the equation.

I have written hardly a word for publication in 15 years. But I'll be damned if that's going to keep me from making my own judgments on a writer.

Even if I don't make omelets...

OK, Boots. I'm sorry that you don't get it. But the measuring stick IS NOT having a better paycheck or being at a bigger paper or being widely read.
And your defense of "you do better" is stale. Because many people here are better. And there are many more better than them.
You have no defense other than "you do better." You never defend WHY he doesn't deserve criticism other than "buh buh buh, he's a nice guy." Hell, he's not even the sixth-best sports columnist at the two papers.
You think he's above criticism? (Even tho he deserves every shot he can get for calling Hank Aaron a coward because he doesn't want to be part of the freakshow that surrounds Barry Bonds) You cite chapter and verse on why Rob Parker doesn't deserve criticism. When you can convince me (and I'm sure others here), I'll stop.
Until then, go back under the bridge, find a new neighbor to poke in the ass, and STMF, U

boots, people here are sports writers.

Unless you think not being able to hit better than ARod means I can't write about him, then you've lost the argument.

    Concede and move on.

    Because.
    Now STFU...

Unless you want to come over and help me finish bricking the walkway.... then I'll tell you over a beer.

I don't know what the acronymns are for, but I'm through with it. You've said your piece. I've said mine. Now, let it end in peace.

No, Boots. It will end when people are done saying what they want. Not when you decree it.

If it means finishing the walkway, whatever kind you want -- unless it's a "gourmet" beer. We aren't allowed to have any of that stuff in Alabama... kids might get a hold of the higher alcohol content and -- whoooeee -- who knows what will happen then.

What is your problem? It wasn't a decree. You've said your piece. I've said mine? What on Earth do you want now? What more can you possibly say about Rob and the way he writes a column? More importantly, since you haven't written a word in 15 years, what does it do for you personally?
