You're seriously claiming that you have had numerous heterosexual friends who died of AIDS? Really? You must be the unluckiest friend-maker alive. Because the odds of that are astronomical.

I wouldn't wipe my boots with that claim. Drippy must be drinking tonight, because he makes even less sense than usual.

Why didn't someone tell me that before?

Are you an actuarian now, Arnold? Because I've known actuarians and they know... stuff.

Thanks for the information. My point is, hopefully not for argument's sake, if it is proven that Alomar is infected don't you think that Hirschbeck might want to get tested. It's not a far-fetched notion.

    1) Drip knows everybody, so odds are actually pretty good that he knows a gay green-eyed beekeeper who has died of ebola...

    2) Why are the odds astronomical that a heterosexual would die of AIDS? Is this 1985?

As the CDC report stated, "Contact with saliva, tears, or sweat has never been shown to result in transmission of HIV." Please read it.

Meanwhile, I enjoy locker room/clubhouse gossip as much as the next guy, but there's a big difference between sharing that info among fellow reporters in private and posting it on a message board which is as accessible to the public as, say, ESPN.com. I'm not sure it's appropriate to broadcast the rumors that swirled around the clubhouse about Robbie Alomar, Brady Anderson or anyone else. Is someone going to reveal which ballplayer was dating the editor of that gay magazine next?

I've had friends who abused drugs. I have friends that do a lot of various things. None of the four that I know who died of the disease were gay - to my knowledge.

Yes it is. You clearly didn't read the information that you were provided. Unless Hirschbeck had an open wound and Alomar spat blood into it, Hirschbeck didn't get HIV from Alomar. And don't you think that if that had occurred in 1996, Hirschbeck might by now have experienced some symptoms?

Actually, it IS a far-fetched notion and the CDC says so. Hirschbeck thinks so, too.

Why are you even back here? Go away again.

Unfortunately we have too many people who get off on that type of stuff. Rumors are passed on this site every day. Look the stuff that was passed on Bob Jelenic. The guy was dead and people, many of whom didn't know him from a can of soda, joined in with vile comments.
