That's what I'd like to know. I'd like to think if it were well-known, I'd have heard about it. I haven't.

Word for word. We have to think of the potential impact on the lives of the victims if we disclose their names.

I guess you skipped over the lead to the story. She is accusing him of knowing he had AIDS and still having sex with her.

And she isn't just suing over emotional distress. She is claiming he exposed her to a deadly disease.

    Here's the lead:

Baseball great Roberto Alomar has full-blown AIDS but insisted on having unprotected sex, his ex-girlfriend charged Tuesday in a bombshell lawsuit.

Where does it say he knew at the time of the unprotected sex that he had AIDS?

Again, based on what is in this story, he may have been negligent in not having submitted to an HIV test sooner.

Technically, it is a negligence suit, but if you read it carefully, he insisted that he had been tested and came up clean.

Also, just to restate this point, your suggestion that all he might have done was to cause "emotional distress" is false.

Well, it's either deception, or rape.

Interesting point (no pun intended). Whatever Alomar has, or however he got it, there's no doubt that players injecting each other in toilet stalls is not exactly a medically sterile environment.

Anyone else think it's a little odd how ESPN and SI aren't even linking to this story?

It's as if it's not even happening.

Does she offer any proof that that wasn't an accurate statement? He might very well have been previously tested for HIV and come up clean.

Thats the only damage she apparently claims based on the unprotected sex.

I'm not a medical expert, so I don't know if she can still come down with HIV or some other STD months or years after the unprotected contact. That would keep her case open, I suppose, but she doesn't claim that he transmitted any STD to her.

That likely suggests that AP is being cautious and doing some more investigation before it does a straight pick up of the story.

Pierce, that's right... I remember Anderson was also dating a tennis player at the time which was also believed to be a beard.
