The guy who seemed to have the true musical talent in the bad was a horrible alcoholic or something like that. Once he left, they quickly went away faster than a Cherry Pie.

    Doug Hopkins. Killed himself.

And I guess that's why it's a lot different to listen to now. At age 21, who thinks of alcohol as a bad thing?

I enjoy their music. Very much. That's about it.

That first Gin Blossoms record was excellent. Post-Doug Hopkins they weren't as good, but still had a few terrific songs.

Toad the Wet Sprocket, not so much.

I had great hope for Bloc Party a few years ago, but after their first album, I could not tell you one song worth remembering.

It's not blues rock, but it is good drum/bass/guitar music, IMHO.

It was over for Bloc Party once they licensed a song to that "Golden State"-y Target ad a decade ago.

Once Hanson stopped churning out hits, I knew it was over.

I've heard some interviews with Hanson in recent years, and I kind of like them now. Not so much the music, but the guys themselves. They seem to have a sense of humor and appreciation for their place in music history.
