Rocky Mountain News "tweets" dead boy's funeral, now (thankfully) being savaged

    At least Mike Shanahan ought to have some in storage he can loan out.

    What's destroying newsrooms isn't whether technology is used a certain way. It's the industry-wide inability to translate the collective strength and brand of newspapers to a rapidily morphing financial model. If we were to have printed the text of a sent-by-couplers funeral 20 years ago, it would have been as laughable as Twittering it today. The standards for quality journalism haven't changed nearly as much as the way to afford them.

    Is this what the future of this industry is coming to? If that's the case, then I really am looking forward to the day I no longer am a part of it. Gutless, tasteless and a boatload of other -less that I can't jog my mind to.
