Republicans in June 2022: Abortion laws will be left to the states.

Republicans in April 2023: Yeah, we didn't mean what we said 10 months earlier.

There are no "good" GOP politicians and jurists. They are all -- at minimum -- aiding and abetting the process of putting fascist/undemocratic/theocratic ideas into law.

All this shows why the anti abortionists want the SCOTUS to go for life at conception; otherwise they gotta fight the whole thing through 50 different state legislatures, and fight the battles of weeks of viability, again and again, and also face leakage as pregnant women travel to blue leaning states (or Canada) where previous standards remain in effect.
No no no no, they want to win the whole war all at once, and win it once and for all.

Warren, Ohio is on the clock.

Remember when the anti-aborts said that they were only going to go after the doctors who performed abortions criminally and not the women who had them? Shit, I think even Trump told them not to.

And now they’ve turned a woman who suffered a miscarriage into an accused criminal.

    Brilliant job, Republicans. Just brilliant.

Just a complete waste of time for everyone involved, never mind the trauma it is putting the mother through. Miscarrying at 22 weeks is devastating enough on its own. I can vaguely understand the police investigating at the time, but the arrest itself seems unwarranted, and then for a prosecutor to keep pressing the matter? And this will shock you, but the judge is an old white guy and his ruling basically boils down to "well I can't possibly pass judgment on this, it's just all so confusing for me!"

That’s what happens when you elect your judges.
