Tell you what: Big Ben is a fucking douche.

    Hope he's OK.

All 3 stations have wrapped up coverage.
They should have about 45 seconds after starting.

    Um....HOLD ON ONE MINUTE!!!!!!!!!

The Big Ragi wrote that Big Ben "happens to be one of the nicest guys you will meet in pro sports"

Obviously, you have never covered the Steelers, been to practice, camp, a game or a workout.

The guys who are there everyday to cover the Steelers -- myself included -- know that Ben is difficult to deal with (and that is putting it lightly).

So? Does that necessarily negate the previous comment?

Everyone who has beers with my former boss loves the guy. Nobody who works with him does.

The majority of the world does not cover the Steelers and probably considers Ben a nice guy.

Given that this is a sports journalism Web site, not a fan Web site, most of us would be likely to encounter BR in our position as a reporter. So, yes, I would say his interactions with the media would be critical in determining whether he is "one of the nicest guys you will meet in pro sports."

Roethlisberger lost most of his teeth, fractured his left sinus cavity bone, suffered a nine-inch laceration to the back of his head and a broken jaw, and severely injured both of his knees when he hit the ground, police said.

It looks like he'll make it. Back on the field, I'm not so sure. :'(

Also ESPN-XM radio reported a crushed eye socket that could lead to vision problems.

Well he's done for the year at least.

I hope he didn't do what my ex did and tear every single ligament and tendon in his knees. The ex is never gonna walk right again, or so he was told.

This is the saddest news of an already sad sports news day.

Ugh. Hate to see this happen.

Here's hoping he makes a full recovery.
