Roethlisberger in motorcycle accident?

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by BYH, Jun 12, 2006.

  1. Hope the kid is OK, but anybody that rides a motorcycle without a helmet doesn't deserve any sympathy. It's a conscious choice he made. He knew the risks.
    Paging Jas..err...Jay Williams.

Came here before hitting the news sites and I'm shocked. Damn, no matter his personality, he was fun to watch ...

Roethlisberger, who led the Steelers to a Super Bowl championship this year, slammed into the windshield, rolled over the car and landed on the pavement, striking his head again, said a woman who witnessed the accident. Roethlisberger's 2005 Suzuki Hayabusa, which is named after a Japanese bird of prey, was totaled. The front wheel was broken in half. The handle bars were broken. The left pedal was shattered. The 170-horsepower bike, which weighs 500 pounds fully loaded, was targeted by law enforcement agencies worldwide after its 1998 debut because it could reach a top speed of 189 mph.

Not only that. It didn't make any sense either (but we've come to expect that out of trounced).

i used to refer to my old boss as 'cocksucker' -- but then i stopped, because i decided it was an insult to all those fine folks who have ever sucked a cock. i mean, without cocksuckers, we'd live in a blowjob-less world. and i believe my stance on that here is well-documented. i'm all for blowjobs. i mean, shit, if it's my cock, at that time the cocksucker is my favorite person in the world

I've seen some pretty insensitive, asinine and juvenile remarks on this board, but what trounced posted may have set an all-time low on this board.

    Hope you're proud.

I certainly have. And I have actually spent a decent amount of time with just him--at their facility and away. Maybe it is that I don't cover him for a local daily, and that makes for a different experience somehow, but honestly, I feel like I know the guy. And I genuinely like him and find him to be one of the good guys... There are a few people here who know I don't feel that way about a lot of NFL players.

And now, back to the Ben Roethlisberger watch.

Just seems like the polite thing to do.

(Edit, this post made more sense before moddy cleaned up...)

People shouldn't be too hard on the guy, because thinking you're indestructible is a common affliction of most young men. God knows the trouble I would have gotten myself in to if I was a multi-millionaire and the quarterback on the Super Bowl championship team two years after leaving college. I wish the guy a quick and speedy recovery.

In the truth stranger than fiction dept - that surgeon had just completed a face lift for Theresa Heinz Kerry when he was called back to the hospital.
